With more and more things to do, how do you keep track of them all? I have several different projects at work, a few side projects, a honey-do list and a bunch of other things I’d want with my free time(what’s that?). How does one manage them all?
I’ve tried the pocket pc approach, but I don’t seem to really keep up with the list there. Paper doesn’t work because I either lose the paper or I don’t understand what it is I was talking about when I go back to look at the list. I think the hardest part is just keeping it organized.
I’m going to try out Ta-da List which is a free web application from the company that does Basecamp project management. It uses the ever more popular XMLHttpRequest to create quick lists that can be easily modified and updated. I’m a little hesitant to rely soley on a third party solution because it puts me at their mercy but you can’t beat free for cost and zero for time to setup.
In the end I think it all comes down to discipline. Coming up with a system and sticking with it are going to be more important than the actual system that I choose.
