Got a kick out of this. From the bluehouse.wordpress.com:

Random Thoughts

This FoxTrot cartoon has a binary math puzzle as an Easter Egg.

read more | digg story

The binary numbers and their decimal equivalents:

01011001 89

01001111 79

01010101 85

01001110 78

01000101 69

01010010 82

01000100 68

He then goes on to show an example in c# to find the answer. In the name of ultimate nerdery here’s the java code to get this to print

public class FoxTrot {
public static void main(String[] args) {
 char[] c = new char[] { 89, 79, 85, 78, 69, 82, 68 };
 System.out.println(c);
}
}

If that is just too geeky for you then go to the next page for the answer

Print it out and get: YOUNERD

My cousin works at Microsoft and was able to get me on the Windows Vista beta. I’ve gone and installed the 5270 build on our home computer and I’m really excited to give it a run through.

In my few minutes of playing with it I’m very pleased with the new interface. Aero looks great. All the people that claim that Microsoft is just copying Apple have a point. There is definitely an Apple-esque vibe going on, but if you are familiar with Windows you should be able to navigate well. It’s small little details that make the experience.

The Flip-3D switching thing is really cool. You have live previews of all your open windows that you can cycle through very quickly. I haven’t tried to install any games or anything, but overall I’m very pleased with the new look.

Now to convince Tammy to let me get a new computer with Vista Media Center. (and lose my 40lbs so I can get an XBOX 360 as an extender)

Is it something you are born with? Or is it something that can be learned?

I consider myself fairly good at carrying on conversations, telling a lively story, making people laugh. But I don’t consider myself a good writer. There are a million blogs out there with 2 million different types of content. Do you need to do something unique to be noticed? Definately yes.

But this brings on the next question. Do I need to be noticed? Don’t get me wrong, I think it would be great to be making a 6 digit income just from blogging (I say just, but the guy obviously puts a ton of work into his sites) But I don’t have the time, desire, skill etc.. to get something like that working.

I would love to have my own niche somewhere, where I could do the things that I love and be happy doing them. I’m having a great time at TheraDoc, but I would also love to pursue some of my own projects. To have something and really make it my own. I still think there is a lot of money to be had managing my dad’s ideas.

So what was the point of this? Nothing, and I guess that’s why I still have a ways to go if I’m going to ever be a good writer. (Provided of course it’s something I can learn)

Tammy the other day asked me what was going on with the site. I wasn’t quite sure what she was talking about, but she mentioned that the site was looking pretty plain. I had just switched to the k2 theme. While it provides a lot of really cool functions (livesearch, live archives, nice plugin integration) it is pretty plain. That can usually be a plus, but we didn’t have any sort of indication that the site was connected to our family. Well I’m going to try to fix that, by starting with the header. Right now it is a motioned blurred image of our family. I thought that would be appropriate for our boys, what with the running around and all.

So look for changes coming shortly, including a design that is a littl more personal

Well, we are now officially homeless and living with my parents. Granted, it’s only for two weeks, but it will be nice to live in our own house again. The boys are being relatively good and actually took a nap today. Thank goodness for small miracles.

We’ve had a lot of good memories in that old house in provo and we are going to miss it. It’s were we learned we were having twins. Were we spent many a night trying to rock two screaming babies to sleep. The home where the boys took there first steps and there first falls. In that neighborhood Owen and Braeden started to ride bikes and run like crazy men.

We had outgrown the space, but not the area. We had some great neighbors and it will be hard to leave them in Provo, but we are very excited to be moving on to the next chapter in our lives. It will be so weird to have our own house. There will be a sense of privacy and isolation that you just can’t experience in a townhome.

So we are sad and happy and excited and scared all at the same time. Isnt’ that a weird jumble of emotions?
