That is so true. As I develop new applications, designs, etc. for websites, I find I get lost in the application I’m using. I’ve found I’m most effective with a pad and pencil, doodling out my design, my “flowchart”, etc. Developing a design “from scratch” in a layout or drawing program (Photoshop, Fireworks, etc) actually suppresses my productivity and creativity. I’m not sure why that is, or if it is just me, but it seems to hold true as a general principle.

And computers and technology were supposed to make things faster!
