GmailIf everything goes right I will soon be the proud owner of a gmail account. How did I come by this? Am I an influential blogger who knows people who can send out the invites? Nope, I’m a lame loser who had to buy one on eBay.

But what a buy! The prices are crashing and I got it for $13.50. Granted, when everyone gets one for free I’m going to feel pretty stupid, but for now, I’m King of the World Baby!! (or I will be if the person ever sends me the invite).

Update:Turns out the seller sent the invite to my BYU account which I do not automatically check! So in reality, the invite was sent a few minutes after I won, I was just too stupid to realize it. So now I am the proud owner of my very own gmail account. Yeehaw!!!!

  • Dan,
Ok. This is starting to get weird. Except for the fact that I am not actively blogging, you are some sort of internet spectre version of me, always one step ahead of the real me. Reading the same things I’m reading, etc. This morning I read the latest “Wired” article, which mentioned gmail accounts going for cheap on Ebay. So I bid on ebay. I got my gmail.

    Weird.

(Oh, and gmail really is the best web-based mail service I’ve ever used. And that’s only in the last hour)

  • Of all the ebay sellers, I must have gotten the slow one. I still haven’t heard anything back from the guy, while both you and my other friend who did the same thing have gotten responses back in under an hour
