spiderman 2Wow. That’s all I can initally say about this movie. Wow. For our 4 year anniversary yesterday Tammy and I went to see the latest movie in what looks to be the Spiderman Trilogy (quadrilogy?). After a minor snafu(what a funny word) involving me not reading the Fandango Website incorrectly (I mean come on, Jordon Commons vs. Jordon Landing. Turns out the difference of the two words is about 5 miles! Anyway…) we were able to get surprisingly good seats for the 10:10 showing of Spider Man 2.

I really loved the first movie for it’s great combination of character development and intense action. Well the new movie kicked it up a notch in both areas. It was very entertaining to see the everyday struggles of Peter Parker and his relationship with MJ, Aunt May and himself. And Doc Oc! What a great villan, not too over the top as he potentially could have been, I felt that Alfred Molina did a great job of balancing the before and after of his character.

From the opening sequence featuring comic stills of the first Spider Man, you were instantly caught up and thrown into the movie. It was great watching Parker struggle with work, school and friends. There was also a lot more humor than the first film. Including a very funny “Raindrops keep falling on my head” montage.
