It used to be that I would listen to people complain about Microsoft and just roll my eyes. Not that I was a “Everybody loves Redmond” kind of guy, but I couldn’t understand how anybody could get so emotionally attached to anything on the computer. (That’s a bad way to start because it implies that now…I’m turning into One of them! where in fact I still think it is silly to have a favorite OS). But I will say now that I don’t like how Internet Explorer does not follow standards. I was trying to get a nice padded border around images but it just wasn’t working in IE. Firefox could do it, and I’m assuming Mozilla could too, but not IE.
Not, that is, until I moved the DOCTYPE tag to the top of the document and then IE started to play nice. Thank goodness for standards!
