Until recently I’ve never really understood the appeal of a camera phone. I mean, they took bad pictures and they didn’t have any of the features found in a digital camera. Well that has changed. Recently we signed up for a new cell phone through AT&T. It’s the Sony Ericsson T637 and besides being cool looking, it has a camera built in. There is a handy button on the side that on the first press puts you in camera mode, and on the second press it takes the picture. It is a nice touch that makes it even easier to use.

I think the reason they are so popular is they are with you wherever you go. It’s 2 gadgets in one that is right there when the boys do something cute, or you see something you’d like to show everyone else. Like the other day I saw my first real live Segway. If I’d have had my phone then I could have captured that moment forever. Here are some of the pictures that I’ve taken with the phone.

With the announcement of higher resolution camera phones and the new hp smart phone I envision pdas,cameras and phones eventually becoming one, the reduction of gadgets is definately a goal to shoot for.
