I went to play ward

Dan

I went to play ward basketball last night. I’d heard that not a lot of people were showing up, so I thought that it would be the same tonight.Nope.
Turns out that someone brought their friends, who are all on the BYU Volleyball team. So basically they were GIANTS!! Here’s the link to their stats pages

Needless to say they kicked our butts. But is was fun, and I will be going back next week for sure. It is also good motivation to get in shape.

Elizabeth McPhie was married on

Dan

Elizabeth McPhie was married on August 15th, 2003. We were able to go down to the wedding in San Diego, but I tell you what, it was quite the production.

Wednesday
Drove up to Salt Lake to stay at the parents because we had a 6:25 flight on Jet Blue

Thursday
Barely made it to the airport in time for our flight. We flew into Long Beach and from there rented a car and drove to San Diego. Once in SD we went to Sea World. That was really fun and we got to see all of the shows and get splashed by dolphins.

That night there was a dinner for all of the family at a good Mexican Restaurant. The boys were being crazy and so we had to make an early exit. They were just very tired after such a long day, on top of which, Owen was sick. We went to bed that night but because the boys were crying so much we ended up each taking one and sleeping in our own queen bed in the hotel room.

Friday
We went to the San Diego Temple and attended the Wedding of Elizabeth McPhie and John Hyatt(sp?) It was a really great ceremony, with the sealer giving some great advice for all married couples, including “treat your wife like a queen”. After that were pictures and then a cousin lunch at a Chinese restaurant. We then headed for the airport in Long Beach, dropping by to see Don and his new baby Matthew. Then a flight home that was slightly delayed because of the blackout but we made it home in one piece and then drove home to be in bed by 1 am. Phew!

It was really nice to be able to see family including David and Erin , Robert and Megan, and Jonathen (sp?). I haven’t seen Robert for 6 years or so, but it was just like old times, with all us geeky guys gathering around to get the specs on Rob’s digital camera. We had a good trip, but it was definitely very stressful. But I’m glad that we were able to go.

We had a really good

Dan

We had a really good day at church today. Crazy, hectic and wild, but good. Having sacrament meeting at 3-4 is just a little crazy for the boys. THey get really tired at the end and we are just trying to hang in there until the end. Today we sat next to Molly who has a two year old and 3 month twins. The Chantry’s also sat next to us. So by the end of the meeting each One of us was holding a baby in their lap. It was a really good sacrament meeting though. The stake presidency talked to us about not just going through the motions of worship and living the gospel, but actually pondering and praying about the things that we do. I really appreciated the message that was shared.

Scott is going to get

Dan

Scott is going to get his mission call today! That is really exciting. We are going to head down tonight at six to find out the wheres and whens.

Tammy and I are trying to not eat any sugar/desserets until December. We are going to be in California for Mike’s wedding and we want to look good. So far it is going pretty good and once we have that down we can exercise more and then just be really buffed.

We reorganized the room today.

Dan

We reorganized the room today. It’s amazing what moving a few things around can do for the overall look of the room. I’m actually able to sit straight on at the computer and have room to stretch my legs out. Ahh…. it’s the simple things you cherish

Last night we rented the

Dan

Last night we rented the movie DAREDEVIL. I’ll tell you what right now, don’t waste your time. The movie just never really seemed to come together for me. I think the concept is pretty cool, and they did a lot of cool things with the cgi and stuff, but overall I just didn’t really get it. After the visiting the Web site I see that it is more of the same. Just too much going on and not enough coming together. If you are looking for a good super hero type movie, then Spider-Man is the one to see.

I got the Archives to

Dan

I got the Archives to work!!! Right now it is a little fudge work to get it to work, but it is working. I’m going to be looking at it more later on, but for now I am pretty pleased witht the results. You can check out the monthly archives by clicking on the links on the left.

Tonight we are going to have Walter over and do some BBQ with Chaka’s MMM Sauce. It’s really good. What’s not to like about a sauce with this face:
Chaka himself

I think that I”ve come

Dan

I think that I”ve come down with the bug that the whole family had. Tammy was really sweet to me though and let me sleep in today. It felt good, but our upstairs can get really hot. It was very nice of her. She is the best wife ever.

Last night we rented the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. It was a pretty cute movie about a guy trying to keep a girl for 10 days and the girl is trying to lose the guy in the same amount of time. It had a lot of the usual cheesy things, but overall it was a pretty good movie.
