Staticize Plugin for Wordpress
I’m going to try out a new Plugin for Word Press called Staticize. Done by Bill Zeller of cowpimp.com, the plugin will automatically generate a static file the first time a page is accessed.
From my non scientific observation of the plugin it seems to be doing a great job. There a bunch of posts on the web showing significant speedups using this method, which of course makes sense, so we shall see how it works here. I don’t anticipate their being a huge hit on this website ever, but it’s always cool to try new things.
Edit: My first try with the plugin did not work. After writing this post there was no update to the initial page. I will look into this to see if something was not configured correctly, but for now the plugin is deactivated.
